She had a peculiar mind
Strange, odd.
Her thoughts were unfathomable-
they scared her sometimes.
On the outside there was peace
but on the inside- constant chaos
On somedays, her thoughts were fierce as fire,
burning with the fuel of curiosity
And on some, they were as cold as a winter's night.
There was no escape.
All she prayed was for serenity
To find peace in the chaos
To get rid of the devil that gnawed at her soul
And to give rest to her mind and it's fickle.
And then she found it,
In an old wooden drawer
A picture of a little girl
A toothy grin on her face
The wind rustling through her hair.
The sun kissing her face
And the sand tickling her feet
She could still feel the taste of the salty air on her lips.
And it was then
That in the midst of her agony
She found a ray of hope.
She acknowledged her demons,
And embraced her angels
She let go of the clouds of despair
And let sunshine make it's way inside
Her soul rejoiced at this homecoming
And made her feel alive again.
She needed a saviour
And so she became one
In the company of her beloved self,
She could finally find solace.
